Literature Text

Tell me this night
of how mankind fell.
How the mother of us all
made sure her husband
ate, too, and did fall.
Fell into a web spun tight.

Why did our mother
Listen to the charming snake
About the knowledge
That the fruit would bring
she must listen and partake.

He showed future loss
No apple pies baked
And she would know about lies
She would know of shame
But he did not say
Anything about the cross.

Mother Eve, come
You will not be lost
Knowledge abounds and then some
Knowing all like God
Being wise like Him
She was never told the cost.

Can you even fathom?
She had lots of fear
When she knew what she had done
She called Adam near,
Husband, please be calm
It is good; full of wisdom."

Adam shook his head
and she smiled at him,
"Husband, I know about death
He won't do as said
If you eat this too
Because He gave you His breath."

Adam was beguiled
By his own woman
Because of her words he ate
Eve took the snake bait
She sealed man's fate
Until God made a new Plan.
well this is in the form of an Alouette. Not a hard style but it took some thought. It is for ProjectDFC [link]
